ICTI CARE strengthens Governing Board with new appointments

 

The ICTI CARE Governing Board is pleased to announce the election of a new co-Chair and the appointment of four industry experts to join the ICTI CARE Governing Board.

T.S. Wong, Chairman and Founder of Jetta Company Limited, one of the world’s largest and most reputable OEM toy manufacturers, has been appointed co-Chair alongside existing co-Chair Maria Livanos Cattaui. Mr. Wong has been involved with ICTI CARE since launch, playing an instrumental role in formulating and promoting the International Council of Toy Industries’ (ICTI) Code of Business Practices which form the basis of the ICTI CARE Program.

Alan Hassenfeld steps down as co-Chair and continues to serve on the Governing Board. Given Mr. Hassenfeld’s outstanding contributions as ICTI CARE founder and his pivotal role in establishing the program as the internationally-recognized responsible sourcing standard for the global toy industry, he will continue to serve as Chair Emeritus.

 

The newly appointed Non-Executive Directors to the Governing Board are as follows:

Neil Friedman is President & CEO, ALEX BRANDS. Neil brings more than 40 years of experience of toy production. Mr. Friedman joined ALEX BRANDS in October 2014 to lead the toy company through its next growth phase which includes a newly opened worldwide headquarters and expansion into Europe.

Geoffrey Greenberg is Co-President, Just Play Toys, LLC. Geoffrey Greenberg is Co-Founder of Just Play, LLC, the #7 toy company in North America. Since its inception in 2010, he has overseen Product Development, Marketing, Licensing, and Operations. He was instrumental in establishing Just Play’s operations in Asia, building an office of over 200 people as well as forming manufacturing and R&D facilities. Domestically, he was responsible for building the team and facilities in the Pennsylvania and California corporate offices of over 100 people.

Michel Moggio is Director General, Fédération française des industries Jouet - Puériculture (FJP). Michel has had a variety of roles across the toy industry and is a former managing director of Hasbro France. As well as being head of the FJP he is also Director of Toy Industry of Europe (TIE), Director and Secretary General of European Nursery Products Confederation (ENPC) and Vice President of International Council of Toy Industries.

C.K. Yeung is a toy industry veteran with over 52 years’ service in the industry most recently as Managing Director and then Vice Chairman of Blue Box Holding, a large toy manufacturing company (OBM), designing and manufacturing toys for the international market, until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Yeung is Chairman of the Toy Advisory Committee, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and for over 20 years he has served as Executive Committee in Hong Kong Toys Council and later in Toys Manufacturers Association of Hong Kong.

 

The above changes to the ICTI CARE Governing Board are effective from 13th January 2017.

As well as welcoming new members, this year sees the departure of two long-serving members who have been on the Board since the ICTI CARE Foundation was created in 2006 to independently oversee the implementation of the ICTI CARE Process. Peter Eio, Former President of LEGO Americas, and Gary Hutchens, Founder of Irwin Pacific and former CEO of Dorcy Irwin Pacific, step down this year as Non-Executive Director after more than ten of service to ICTI CARE.

The ICTI CARE Governing Board wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Peter Eio and Gary Hutchens for their commitment, leadership, and service to the Board which has played such an integral role in the development and success of the ICTI CARE Program.
